Greetings all,

I haven't used LR3 for a couple of week, so I honestly cannot remember what I was doing last with it.

However, I seem to have an issue that the adjustment brush has gone feral !!

To me, it looks like it has now got a "default" setting that I do not seem to be able to clear.

RTFM (and Scott Kelbys new LR3 book) has not helped me at all :(

Below are two screen shots that (hopefully) graphically illustrate my problem, and help would be greatly appreciated !!

The first screen capture is the program just sitting there waiting for me to do "something".

I click the adjustment brush, and give one wipe down the side of the models face, and get the "yellow" brush-stroke as shown in the second capture.

I'm thinking that (as usual) I'm missing the blooming obvious !!

Many thanks,

Austen.

Go to where it says "Effect: Custom". Click there.
Or click the sideways pointing arrow next to it.

Thanks for the quick reply René, but I'm not sure what you mean ??

This is the only "Effects" I could find, and it doesn't seem to want to "reset".

Austen.

Rene is talking about resetting the Adjustment Brush.

Click on the Adjustment Brush icon to open the dialog box
Click the reset option at the bottom of the box.

Thanks guys.....Got there, In the end !!

I had previously found that "reset", but to no avail.

However, When I opened the dialogue and reset the sliders "manually" it all came good !!

Thanks heaps,

Austen.

That's pretty funny:)! I'd call it creative editing!

But on a serious note, was that the editing or was it the color of the overlay?

I'm with Tony, this looks like it might be the mask showing. Hit the "O" key to toggle it on and off and see if that helps.

If it were the overlay, it would
1) probably be red. Maybe green, but not yellow.
2) certainly not be showing in the screenshot in post #3

Rene - I don't have LR here in work so I wasn't able to check what the valid colors for the mask are but, if you say yellow isn't one of them, then it can't be the mask. I'm not sure I follow point #2 though. Are you saying that because of the color?

Nope, because the adjustment brush isn't active there ;)

Ah yes, now I see. Good catch! When I was looking at the settings, I was looking at the original post and never noticed that when looking at post #3.

Good morning !!

Thanks heaps guys, and as has been (correctly) deduced it wasn't the mask, just me forgetting how I got the effects of the custom brush and how to reset it !!

It was 1.30am before, now it's 9.00am and I feel so much better after my sleep !!

Cheers,

Austen.

I know your issue was already fixed, but holding down Shift should change the 'Reset' Button to 'Reset (Adobe)' to revert the entire panel to Adobe defaults. Not sure if this was what you were initially looking for.
