Should i trade in my 70-200 f4L and go for a g11 and revert back to the 55-250 IS as well?

i do use my 70-200 a lot but i kind of miss having IS on it. i am stuck with my xsi body and would like something compact to take everywhere....

The 70-200 f4L is probably the best deal in quality glass today. I have it and also a G11 and could not imagine being without either. I'd say don't do it. Find something else to sell if you need to raise money for a G11. I used E-Bay to clear my basement of old stereo gear in order to get my G11.

thanks for that input! I dont want to get rid of my 430 Ex II either... maybe my playstation 3... my wife would probably hurt me though.

Im loving the reviews on the g11... i was thinking about the s90 and sx220 as well

jjaenagle, I'd say save some money, sell some stuff and be patient. Go for the G11. You will really get addicted to the low light capability and the articulating screen, neither of which the G10 has. Although it is a good camera, the people who have a G10 and recommend it over the G11 just don't know. Be patient and do the right thing !

I bought my G11 for times when I just don't feel like carrying my other gear. But there is no way I would give up an L lens for my G11. PS3? No problem, but then again, I don't game!
I can see a difference between my G11 and my 5D with an L lens on it, (Duh!) and that kind of image quality is why I invested in my gear. But sometimes big gear is too heavy for really long walks or all day outings.

thanks guys! I am such an impulsive buyer that when i get excited about something i will do almost anything to get it. Glad you guys can talk me out of stupid mistakes lol.

My wife plays call of duty just as much as i do and that may take away from our quality times spent together... haha

Sell the 70-200, totally agree it is a lovely lens but its biggest problem (for me) is that it is a little short, I was forever fitting various converters to it to get extra length and on a 1.6 crop body it started a bit too long (1.6 x 70 = 112mm), I ended up using a 35-350L which is a monster but is a nice one lens solution, it was updated a couple of years back by the 28-300L. However, I would suggest keeping the flash as that can be used on both your DSLR and the G if needed.
