Bag Suggestions Please

I bought a bag myself after reading the descriptions and i ended up buying something too small. I need a bag the holds everything in my signature a 70-200 2.8, and a 2x T.C. because that is what i will be adding soon. I would like it to hold a 17.3" laptop as well but that is not absolutely required. Lastly the more weather sealing the better.

My Billingham 445 will fit a 15" MBP, but not a 17".
I wouldn't want to lug that around on my shoulder either.

Take a look at the Tamrac Expedition series of backpacks. Your going to have a little bit of an issue with the 17" laptop requirement in that it will require you to get a bag that may be larger than you really need to hold your camera gear. Have you looked over at Cambags.com ?

no, the only place i looked was Bhphoto and there are just so many it is over whelming to choose, I am going to Cambags now.

The Lowepro Fastpack 350 holds a 17" laptop . Thinking on getting one myself as it hold a fair bit of gear . Not AW but I think you can get backpack rain covers at sporting goods stores .

What will you be using your bag for? Hiking? Wedding?

If you don't have to look like a pro, then go for a backpack. Any bag that can haul a 17" is gonna be ginormous. The dual straps will save you.

Shoulder bags look more gosu, but can hard on your posture. Rollers are nice too, but again, can be hard to carry when not on smooth floors.

If you can get by without the laptop, look at the Tamrac 5611 or the 5613. I have the 5611 and it holds my 7D and 40D, each with a lens attached and gripped, also my 70-200 f/2.8, 50 f/1.8, 85 f/1.8 1.4 ex, 2- 580 EX speedlites, filters, spare batteries and a load of other stuff. Both the 5611 and 5613 will hold a smaller laptop.

For outdoors, with a lot of walking, I use a backpack and for sports I use a belt system.

I work in Afghanistan and I just want one bag to carry all my gear onto chinooks. If it can't hold the laptop then it can't be a backpack. I can carry another bag for my laptop np but that will be a backpack. I wouldn't mind a 1shoulder bag as long as it is easy to access then I could carry that seperate when i go out taking pics. I have the small canon bag but it is way too small and I have a Lowerpro that i can fit most stuff in but i still have to have 1 body around my neck.

The Tamrac 5613 looks nice... if no other suggestions i think that is what i will go with

I got a Kata Pro Lite Bumble Bee 220 PL recently and it is the nicest bag I have ever seen. Tons of room, very well thought out design, high quality constuction, etc.. Not cheap, but very nice indeed.

If I'm humping it anywhere, I'd pick a backpack of some sort. BTW, what year FD are you running?
I had a 93 R1 model a while back. It was fun. Pushing 375 HP at the RW.

You could get a Domke J-1 with the postal carrier pad. The bag will hold the gear list - minus the laptop - and leave you with room left over. The carrier pad takes a lot of the stress off the point on the shoulder where the bag strap contacts it and helps prevent slippage. It's a pretty easy bag to work out of for something that has so much capacity.

Lowepro Vertex 300 (it'll take anything up to a 19" length laptop) or the Pro Runner 450 AW. I have both backpacks and the Vertex is the only one that will take my HP Pavilion 9000 series laptop (it's 19" long, which is why I bought the Vertex in the first place). The Pro Runner 450 AW won't, but it should take any standard sized 17".
