I took this shot last weekend in the Catskills Mountains of NY State. Mid-morning in forest shade. I returned 24-hours later to see if it had developed into something impressive. Instead, it was nibbled around the edges and haggard. Mushrooms are intriguing subjects. There's a small window of opportunity when they're at their best.

40D, Canon 100mm F.2.8 macro.

Nice, crisp shot. My kids remind me of my "mushroom phase" (in the 70's). Haven't done that for many years, but still appreciate good work.
