Sensor Cleaning

I've had my 40D for about two years now and after my vacation this last week (California beaches and Whale Watch tours) I noticed that it's starting to get a couple of spots on it. My question is this, is it better off to send it to Canon to get cleaned or should I take it to the local camera shop and have them do it? I'm in Omaha so it would be Rockbrook Camera and Video in particular. I was thinking that if I send it to Canon that I will probably just send both of my lenses with as well to have everything calibrated. Any thoughts or experience are welcome.

I saw that thread. I guess I was really looking for whether people trust anyone besides Canon to do their cleaning for them. I am hesitant to do it myself because if I screw it up... In any case, I think that I will try one of the static brushes first since it's only one or two spots. Thanks for the quick reply.

I understand and went into a lot of threads before it became no big deal to me but I remember the first time and all the worries of what I could do wrong and it turn out to be no harder than cleaning my lens. And if you send it to Canon I would think they would do a good job for a price. But good luck
