Two cups of coffe in the morning during the week, one on the weekends. Only water or the occasional diet soda after lunch, maybe a caffine free diet soda in the evenings.

Not intending on causing this thread to wander, but...

One of my other interests, which has been a practical help with photography, is target shooting. I found that if I'd had any caffine when I went out to practice, my groups were much worse than if I'd had no caffine. So, if I wanted less shaking, drink less coffee (or wait several hours before going off to the range). This little bit of knowledge has helped me in taking photos in lower light situations (if I know about them ahead of time), especially the breathing.

Back to the java, if it's a bad day at work, then I might have three cups of coffee.

When you're out and about, and decide to get a cup of coffee, where do you go?

The true purist would carry around a pouch with roasted beans and then chew on those :shock::shock: ;)

During the week 50/50 chance of a cup of plain black coffee in the morning. Probably 2 or 3 sodas a day (always diet, the normal stuff just tastes overly sweet). Weekends, probably a cup or two during the day and a couple of sodas. So not a ton of caffein and no sugar.

One thing I recommend is completely abstaining from caffein for a month. No coffee, tea, chocolate, anything. Then make a big ol' put of really strong coffee and knock that sucker off as quick as you can. Exilerating. If you don't have a heart attack. :) Eating a couple of oranges, or some vitamin C tablets helps too.

My backpack. Starbucks DoubleShots. In a time of need....

Otherwise I like hunting down coffee shops, but that's so rare since I do so much shooting in the boonies where you can't even find a Dunkin' Donuts (lucky me). Then I have to look for a diner, and hope...

...and caffeeine. Yes. Starbucks.

I never said I was a raspberry-toting mocha-mixing foo-foo tutu-wearing coffee drinker. I said that I drink coffee. As long as it has enough caffeine I'll drink it.

I'm also not a snob-faced nose-in-the-air poor-french-muttering english-accented wannabe snot who condescends other when they don't do the same darn thing as I believe they should do.

I drink coffee. Pure and simple. If others drink different kinds of coffee, I could care less.

:-)
I'm really not as angry or upset or anything even though all that sounds like I am. I just thought it sounded good.

I am one of the rare individuals that has never had a cup of coffee in my life. I hate the stuff. Soda is my weakness and one of the reasons I am not losing the weight I want to.

One time I quit soda cold turkey and replaced it with gatorade, but no water. The electrolyte content and no water to flush my system gave me a bad case of kidney stones, oh well, I was a nurse at the time so it was not long lasting. No soda, increased water and exercise and I will have lower blood pressure and be healthier. (I say this while I sip my Coke)

I am basically the same. I've had maybe 2 cups of coffee that I finished in my life but I think they were more sugar with some coffee added to it. I personally don't know why everyone seems to like it. I'll have an English Toffee Cap from Tim Horton’s once in awhile but that's because it tastes like strong hot chocolate rather then coffee.

Im glad or sorry to see I am not alone with an addiction to caffeine and glad to hear from fellow photographers that the spell can be broken.

Actually I should probably be ashamed. I woke up with a migrain headache and one thing migraines seem to crave is caffeine to calm it down. So I could take 3 Tylenol Ones or I could have a 1.2 L slurpee, I chose the slurpee.

I'd like to quit cold turkey but like CDS mentioned above “I'm not really an addict.. as I've quit for various reasons successfully twice.. :)” I too have done that, actually twice this year alone. But I think caffeine, cola or sugar is harder to quit then smoking. And most of all know that it takes many times to successfully quit.

I want to quit not to lose weight (although that’s a great side affect :)) but I want to quit because of the problems Caffeine does on the mental state of my mind. Im creative now, but I could always stand to be better :)
