Coffee in the morning, usually 3-4 cups, no sweetener of any sort.

I drink Peet's, Major Dickason's Blend, and grind the beans myself. I brew it about 50% stronger than they recommend.

Soda? Diet Pepsi, and not many of those. Bottled water is my constant companion here in the desert.

I'm not short. I'm concentrated awesome!

I think I substitute it for food. I get another five minutes after I finish one. I guess at work I would have 20 a day. At home in my little donga I don't have the facilities (never worried about it) so I only have one at dinner.

i found a long time ago when i used to shoot pistol that after giving up caffine for a number of months that I was shooting the best scores ever. I imagine that would equally apply to photography as well.

You mean coffee isn't one of the major food groups? I am sure Image Stabilization was invented by an inveterate coffee drinker  :p

This topic is extremely relevant. I believe that coffee is responsible for a large proportion of the shakes we experience. If we drop some of the coffee from our diet, it would mean that IS lenses become redundant, and we would not want that now, would we?

My brother considers caffeine to be a food group next to carbs, fats and protein. Myself, I am content with about 6-7 mugs a day.

I've decided on a way to quit caffine and sugar. I will quit sugar first, meaning pop. But to get my caffiene fix I will chug a glass of cold instant coffee. I hate coffee but it wouldn't be that bad if I drank a cup and then some water after it, I'm sure. I figure that going cold turkey would probably put my body in shock if I quit both but doing one at a time will probably be better. After all we are talking about an addiction to sugar and caffiene that I have had steady for at least 15 years if not much longer.

I drink tea and triple lateés, so I'm good... But for those moments in between, pop one of these:

Actually, going back, I have had a soft drink, sort of. Well, if RedBull mixed with Bacardi 151 counts.

Tastes like crap, but If two shot glasses of that doesnt get you up in the morning or makes you pass out, nothing will lol.

Love my morning cup of Joe. I take it just like FBI Special Agent Dale Cooper (he of Twin Peaks fame) takes his

"as black as the moonless night at midnight"

then the afternoon espresso hit at around 3pm :)

hardest thing for me was to stop having a cigarette with coffee as I would always have 1 with the other. Still, no cigarette now for 10 days :) But still drinking coffee :)

Just returned after many years hiatus from this forum. I was a bit of a prat before, if I ever offended you, I'm sorry

I've got all the equipment I need, now I just need inspiration :D

Actually it wasn't, but the new version of the 300 f/4L IS with the 4th generation IS system in it will have a turbo mode (the software algorythm that runs it is called Redbull) that is designed just for the 20 cups a day folks.

Or another way of putting it.

I like my coffee how I like my women. Dark and bitter.

Hey Mijbril, best wishes on your quiting smoking. Not sure about Germany but here smoking is less attractive then ever before because its practically against the law to smoke in public. Even many buildings like hospitals are not allowing smoking outside near their doors. And the price of smokes is ten dollars a pack! So best wishes and when you get discouraged think of all the L series lens you'll be able to afford to buy one you quit :)
