Oh so you wasn't talking about the Strobella, sorry I take it back then.
Can you please provide a link or name of a 6" umbrella that I can purchase?

Re-read my first post slowly and you might just get it. I somewhat doubt it though.

Are we having fun yet ?

I sure do! :p

I'm having a pisser Paul. I love when people defend those stupid devices. If only they understood how light really worked.

But alas.... it's not likely.

So are you saying you could have said something like it was 'as useful a slipper' and you wasn't in fact referring to any commercially available umbrella light modifier?

How can I? You've already taken a stand and truly believe that it's worth using that thing-a-ma-jig.

If you talk to the people on this or any other forum that use on camera flash and then consult with working pro's that use on camera flash you'll find few to none that buy into these devices.

I've personally owned and tested many of them and can't find anything that does as good a job as bouncing off a ceiling or wall or carrying a bounce card of some sort. Wether it's 1 cent, 10 dollars or 100 dollars it's just not worth it and every day ebay and other merchants are peddling more of this crap to those that buy into the hype.

Seriously did you hit your head or something ?

I didnt know of the strobella gimick before you tossed it in your argument, i couldnt care less about it.

I meant what i wrote period, if a 6" umbrella exist or not i dont know and dont really care as it has no relevance to my original post.

Ok from your attitude, I can see you don't want to engage in a logical discussion, and would rather use put-downs instead without backing them up.

As for relevance, how about you don't compare a 6" beauty dish to a mythical 6" umbrella, that way there wouldn't be any miss-understanding.

Logical discussion, you have the problem of following the basics logics and laws of light, i dont expect you to have one of your own as flawed as it might be.

Again your failed horribly again to get the point, im not sure why your so obsessed with this strobella product that you automatically assumed i was referring to it, or even worse "putting it down" GASP!

But why stop the fun now ? ;)

So how about you teaching the rest of us tools as to why the shoot thru umbrella and the beauty dish put out such a similar light ?

I have one. It's small so the quality of light is what you'd expect from a tiny modifier. It's heavy and you'll have to shoot holding it b/c it puts alot strain on the flash head. I used it for a week and the novelty of it wore off, never used it again.
