Hello. It has been forever since I have posted on this forum so forgive me if I put this in the wrong spot.

I use both a G7 and 20D. I cant seem to get my portrait picture rotated to the correct orientation when I move them from my cards to my computer. They preview correctly on the cameras but when I move the files they are on their sides again and I have to fix each one of them.... frustrating!

I think they use to move over correctly but something seems to have changed some where along the way.

Any suggestions???

Thanks,

Kim

Are you shooting to JPEG or Raw on your 20D? Changed your Auto Rotate setting recently?

The image is the image, the settings on the camera just control the viewing orientation on the camera LCD. Photoshop will also orientate them for you too when you pull it for editing, but the basic image is what was recorded, so if you did a portrait, previewing in Windows or looking at the thumbnails in the file browser will show them as is.

Could be a software change too. Most software honors the rotation setting in the picture but that can be turned off.

Thanks everyone. I will keep looking around. Auto rotate is still set on my cameras.
