Last year we had a videographer do a short introduction video of our studio.

It work well at Winery Venues and on our website. We updated it with some new images. Plays "OK" as a flash video on our web but much better as a full HD movie on an iPad or other HD player device.

it's put together well, but it's waaaaaaay too long IMO. Too much talking, very much like an infomercial. Coming from a sales background, I would sell the sizzle more than the steak. Especially because you call it an "introduction video", but this is more like a full informational video brochure, like you're trying to put everything you want your website to say into one video. Intro videos are short, concise, and supposed to hit you hard and fast with tons of exciting stuff that pumps visitors up, not giving them factual information about your business and products. Think of it like a movie trailer, 30 seconds that makes people excited to see the movie.

Honestly, the last 20 seconds of the video is more along the lines of what an "intro video" should be like.

yeah seems a little long and for some reason the voices seem to have a slight echo or something that makes them off. Maybe its just my earphones though..

Got it. Much easier to shorten than lengthen!

We actually built the video as part of a DVD set to introduce the Temecula Valley Wine Country. So it is much more like an informational. The DVD is 1 hour and has all kinds of interesting facts about the Wine County. We hand out the DVD's at bridal shows and events.....Dan

I tend to agree it's too long. Plus I don't really understand why it's weird that you love wedding photography. None of us would be doing it if we didn't love it. ;)

Yeah the video is really long...
You guys are just siting there, not very exciting...
Background looks very "old school/outdated", get with the times or get left behind...

Yeah and it's not weird that you guys love wedding photography, I wouldn't want to hire someone to shoot my wedding if they hated weddings etc...

voices are definitely not good. whoever you hired to do video sucks, each person talking should have been mic'd up or at least have a mic boom overhead the speaker.

I got a good laugh out of the part where it says.... "we are VERY proud to be a PPA member, because it is very hard to get it"....
Yeah it's very hard, pay $100/year for nothing, just to make yourself sound more professional....
But truth is, anyone can pay $100 per year and say they are a member of PPA, even uncle joe down the street with his digital rebel and kit lens...

I'm gunna agree with others and say far too long. I think it can be more consise, and you can miss out a lot of the information you talk about, it's mostly stuff you can tell the client when you have a private meeting rather than a 'hook' to grab customers.

If you were to do it again, script it more so you don't babble on... you seem to be repeating each other. All you want people to do is click the banner above. I'd say keep it to a minute or so.

OK. I must respond:

1. I agree with the shorten version. Got it and "OK"
2. Remove the "weird". From my days at Brooks where anyone actually wanting to be a wedding photographer was considered "weird". OK it will be removed!
3. The background is not dated. It's actually in our studio and the lighting equipment are all brand new Larsen soft boxes.
4. PPA Certification is not a $100 buy in but a qualification and test in. If Uncle Joe can pass the test and judging.... more power to him! Think you can pass it?

That's it....Dan
