My guess is, one artifact is on one side and the other reversed, cause ultra wide lens have a radical shape, looking like a rounded cone, not a low rounded hill in cross section. These artifacts only show up at certain angles also. If you put the light source right in the center, you get nothing, put the light source out of the frame, but the light still hitting the glass, nothing. You can also get them in daylight if shooting toward the sun. Look at pictures of streetlights taken and night and you can tell by the number of points, how many leaves are in the iris of the lens. The Tokina is a relatively cheap ultra wide, although well made. Mine was also an earlier model with older coatings.

Very cool canonloader ... thanks for sharing ... I don't think Chrome (my favorite browser) supports an Exif reader but Firefox does. I have been using CS5. Here is flare from a Contax 100 f/2 Planar. I call it rainbow flare because here we see the entire visible spectrum which is likely a function of the lens coatings. My memory of it wasn't stated correctly in the previous posts. The lens is pointed to the phone in the shade but the lens was in the light with morning sun to the upper left at about 11 o'clock or so. In fact it appears the light source is at a 90 degree angle to the rainbow vector. This flare was visible to the naked eye and I shot it because this lens is known for having flare issues in previous demonstrated tests.

Thanks for providing that information. There are a variety of reasons why you might feel this way. They range from preconditioned notions based on the idea of death and morgues to a spiritual being in your sphere of influence (your body) generating visual and / or sensual information that you and your body respond to, and a few shades in between typically based in fear ... "that horror movie really made my skin crawl", etc. You know what you experienced. I have had sensations of being watched and a whole lot more!

As far as I can tell you have provided 4 unique frames. Since I did not acquire these images a critical component of this evaluation is the authenticity and level of manipulation if any to these images. We all know how easy it is to extend and modify a digital image. I am assuming that these are unmodified images. Am I correct in assuming this?

May I ask why you took at least 4 shots from this particular location? Is this morgue current, old, or a ruin? Are we looking at a structure that was or is a part of the morgue? Are there any bodies buried here? Is there a name for this particular site?

Thanks for participating here blakeG. It has been fun to examine your image and blue orb sighting and gives me a chance to work my science muscles while exploring this phenomenon.

I believe this to be an authentic sighting! Congratulations.

I took four pictures only because i was bored really. i noticed the blue orb in the second picture and after i saw that i decided to take two more to see if it was a flare or not.

Its not necessarily a morgue, its an abandoned mental hospital for those who had mental disabilities. it was a place to them to live out of normal society.

i have yet to see the morgue. it's hard to find from what i have heard as the complex of this hospital is atleast 25 acres large with over 15 buildings.

I'm not sure as to if there are any bodies buried here. i think the morgue was just a temporary place to store the deceased until they could be taken to a cemetary.

It does have a name and its called Hissom Memorial Center. If you would like to read more about it you can follow these three links provided below..some interesting pictures as well as information there.
