Knew where this Great Gray Owl family lived and when the chick left the nest went to take some photo's. The male owl which fed the female and the chick while she was on the nest was still in the area. She was not happy about it and would chase him away when he came near the chick with food. Was an enjoyable day even in the rain showers during the day.

HA! Awesome. That second one was completely photobombed by the background owl!

Magnificent animals aren't they?
Couldn't help but chuckle at the second shot....what a great "captionable" capture.

Thanks for all the nice replies everyone. The first shot she was actually looking at the male owl who had flown back in the area with food for the chick. He landed on the broken tree where the chick was perched and she immediately flew in and chased him away, then she flew into a nearby tree where she would call to the chick. She left the chick for several times throughout the day and come back periodically to check on it, almost like she was using me as a babysitter.
