I will be covering NFL and college football games here in Houston and need another body. I decided that I could not swing the $3,500 for a Mark II so a 1D is going to be the best I can afford. What do you think a fair price for a low (30K) shutter count, and a clean body would be? Should I wait to see if Canon releases somthing with a high FPS body or just buy the 1D? Any body selling their 1d, if so PM me with the details?

Thanks
Stephen

My take on this is that a posssible new high FPS body with specs above the 20D from Canon will not be less expensive than a used 1D.

Also, my guess is that the 1D will not lose much more in value soon.

But that's just my opinion.

Best regards,
Andy

Stephen

BH photo in NY had used ones for sale for around $2000 and BH is the best used and they are very honest. You may also try Adorama they also have a large used department you may be able to get a 1D MK II for around $2900 or so. I hope this helps. I for one would try to swing the cash and go for the 1D MK II and try to get more paying gigs to pay for it. Also with Adorama make them describe the condition of the camera in detailed make them take it out of the box!! Or they will send you Crap like they did me. They sent me a Used 1D MK II with a huge scratch were the Magnesium alloy was showing not a scratch a hard hit. It really ticked me off!! So this is why I say to make them take it out of the box and describe it to you. Like New is like new not like damaged. This would have never happed wit BH.

Thanks,
Angelo
