I recently picked up a second hand studio set and luckily my two boys were more than willing to have a play in front of the lights.

Any C&C would be welcomed, I still have a fair bit to learn but am reasonably happy with how these came out.

I think they look great! I am really wanting a studio set up as well, what all did you get?
My only complaint would be some of the shadowing on the floor, mostly in #3. Not from the boys but maybe something sitting next to them? Looks like you will have a lot of fun taking pictures of your boys, they are so cute and the older one looks like he enjoys getting his picture taken! Too fun!

Lovely set you got there. Though I don't mind the shadow's on the floor, I see what you were going for. Great series all in all!

Off to a good start. What's the setup? I dont mind the shadows under the subject, I think it grounds them. The shadow on the lower right could be corrected by lowering your light down just a little bit. Keep it up.

Thanks very much for the kind words!

The lights are three Elinchrom FX400's. One at the front with a softbox and two at the rear shooting into reflective umbrellas pointing at the background. The two rears were about a stop brighter than the front light. I was using a white paper 3.5 meter wide backdrop/ floor.

Hopefully the novelty won't wear off for the kids too soon so I get another go.

Cheers,
Andy

I need to get some wider paper. Mine is half width and I can only get 1/2 height shots out of it

Great pictures! I love them. If I had a critique, I'd say watch out for your shadows. Having 2-3 shadows pointing different directions isn't natural. Have a look in picture #1, that ain't natural shadows ;) But that is only because you asked critique, those are very good.

Thanks very much for the comments.

I agree with you regarding the shadows. I had a couple of these printed and did some tidying up before I set them off.
