Found a couple of old tripod heads.
I noticed how heavy they were, so I took them home.

Any idea what these are?

http://www.panaviseonline.com/products.php?category=47 (external link)

shows that the PanaVise unit on right is really for mounting things like speakers, and the model shown is either the discontinued 850 or its replacement 851

I would guess the other one is also for mounting things to walls, etc. Are there any identifying names or even model numbers that you could Google, like I did to find the first one?

thanks for your help Wilt.

Never knew speakers could be mounted on ball heads..
I thought they were video camera heads at the very least; I couldn't be more wrong (embarrassed)

Neither of those ball heads appear to be of the caliber that would make them useful as photographic ball heads. The balls are rough-looking and quite small and the clamp systems are very coarse.

Perhaps they could be put to use for off camera flash mounting rather than just chuck them away.

That is quite true.

As an idea, the little ball heads could be fastened to C-clamps by welding an appropriate short bolt (probably 1/4-20 thread) to the C-clamps and then screwing the bottom of the little ball head to the bolt.
