Hey all,

I bought a G7 a while ago, mostly to play around with CHDK timelapse features and huge DoF in macro (compared to my 40D with 100mm anyway).

I just tried it with a Nikon Sb-28DX external flash via cactus v4 triggers, and was able to get a good exposure all the way up to 1/1000th. At ISO 80, this gives some pretty good options to block ambient (2 1/3 stops better than a 40D).
I noticed the image got darker as I went above 1/1000th though, so probably still usable, unlike the shutter line on a DSLR.

Does anyone else care to share any experiences with manual flash / flash sync on G-series cameras?

Edit: Mr. Hobby knew about this ;) http://strobist.blogspot.com …g9-at-12500th-of-sec.html (external link)
