I spent 16 days chasing and photographing supercell thunderstorms this Spring from April through July. Chasing took me from Oklahoma to Colorado and even as far north as North Dakota and everywhere in between. Here are just a few of my favorites from this season. I have tons more at my website (external link) if you are interested, thanks for looking!

Excellent series and seems like quite a rush, too.

My favorite is the Last Chance, CO shot. Just so much going on and well composed. Thanks for sharing.

-- A person can't really appreciate a storm like that until you experience one ... yet I think #6 does a great job of capturing the nastiness. Nice images and be safe chasing mother nature mate. --

thank you for chasing these storms. Crazy clouds and light... would love to see it first hand.

One question for you, do you do much post processing?

I agree; great series! I've always wanted to chase storms. I was fortunate enough to see a pair of small tornados in SW Wisconsin in late June. Unfortunately, I didn't have my camera with me. However, they were nothing compared to your image of the rain wrapped tornado. Again, great work!

Some great shots in there Tyler... Did you have much luck on the year regards to photogenic tornadoes? Seemed like there were quite a few of them this year, but a majority out on the western Plains.

Thanks for the comments everyone!

Fstop-Ian - Not very much actually. I usually just mask the foreground to get it properly exposed. And of course cloning out the dust specs from my dirty sensor lol.

Jayson - Not really, Pawhuska on May 10th was probably the most photogenic of the year, but we were never able to stop so all I have is a shot of it out the window (external link). I guess Leedey (external link) on may 19 was photogenic, but I was 10 miles away from it. Nearly chased May 24, 31 and June 16. Screwed up bad on June 17 like most.

Martin.D - Thanks for bookmarking!

This is probably my favorite of the year but I didn't post it cause the foreground kinda sucks...
