White-tailed Eagles

Hi all

Here are some shots of White-tailed Eagles.
There are around 65 pairs of White-tailed Eagles in Iceland and that is the highest number for decades. The White-tailed Eagles are endangered species here in Iceland and are protected by law. You are not allowed to get close to them or photograph them without a special permission from the Enivironment Agency and only a few permissions are issued each year (and then there are very strict rules you have to follow). The White-tailed Eagle was almost extinct in Iceland in the beginning of the 20th century but through hard work their number is increasing again. It's been a dream of mine for a long time to photograph these majestic raptors so for me it was like winning the lottery to be able to spend two weeks photographing these magnificent White-tailed Eagles.

Two words come to mind....simply beautiful.

Their coloring and plumage is beautiful and the way you have captured it with these photos is stunning. Thank you for sharing these images! They are really great.
