Had to capture a motion image for a class, and decided to finally try some panning. Lucky me, this night the sun was cooperating quite nicely. Out of all the shots from that evening, this is the one that has the most soul:

Aug 04, 2010 11:49 | #4 Thanks, guys! I definitely have a few from the evening that have the more "perfect" tack-sharp car with blurred b/g and wheels, but, like I said this one has a more punch to it than any other of the night.

His results will be different from yours. It depends on the distance to the subject, the angle of movement to the camera of the subject, the focal length, the speed of the subject, & the effect that you're trying to get. Sometimes when I'm playing with blurs, I throw a lot away! FrankC - 20D, RAW, Manual everything...
