My second wedding. Still have lots to learn. It was tough shooting in mid-day, lots of harsh sunlight shinning through different places- so many of the photos have some blown highlights, even in the shade. Advice on how to avoid these blown highlights next time would be great! Plus it was 100 degrees!

C&C always appreciated!

I think they are okay as a whole. A few flaws here and there but I am too tired to critique. Personally, I don't think you should say things in public (your URL is in the signature, which could come up in a search engine) that could be considered derogatory about your clients. I don't think the couple looks unhappy or unpleasant and there is no need to point out that the bride has less than perfect teeth. Who cares?

you are probably right, just trying to explain why there aren't any real smily happy pics. Wasn't saying that she wasn't happy- just that they weren't smily.

I notice a pattern of tilting in your photos that I just can't get past. They seem tilted in almost the exact same angle. Also a lot of them have lots of empty space above the subjects.

My favorite shot is the cake shot.

I agree that you probably should delete the derogatory comments about your clients.

Oh, and you have too many photos. 8 photos max is the rule here.

I honestly wouldn't have thought anything of it if you hadn't said anything. Not everybody is about big grins, and that's okay. :)

I guess it's more me thats noticing! I've been waiting around for that bride with the bubbly smily personality that I get some real emotional shots that spark emotion in the viewer. I feel like there weren't very many pictures from this wedding that brought that emotional vibe because of their lack of emotion. Maybe thats just me.

My bride for my 5-7-2011 wedding has a lot of spunk! I think she'll be a ton of fun! But thats still a ways away!

I thought it was 8 per post, not 8 max. Sorry.

I noticed the empty space on some of them. I think that comes with me not having the focus point set correctly in the camera.

And yes I do tend to add a tilt to my photos- it's part of my style. After this wedding I did realize how much I did it and will not do so many next time.

Some couples are fun loving and "bubbly", others are more subdued. You just have to work with what you get...

I wouldn't shy away from tilting. It's that sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

For instance it works on #8 (too much space above the subjects though), #11, and #12 just to name a few. Doesn't work on #6 and #9.

Just my opinion of course!

I used different lightroom presets. I've created some of my own and I've also found some on the internet.
