Hmmm, I really don't know what it is, but something seems to be missing here..... it doesn't give me that "wow" reaction...

Had a go my self:

Try cropping out the building on the left so it leaves to with the road on the left - this can then be used to lead the eye onto the tower.

I also tried with adding a layer and multiply and gradient etc. This helps darken the sky and gives the building some more pop and remove the noise form the sky

I like it. How did you go about bringing down the sky without bringing down the rest?

Are you using photoshop?

If so use the gradient tool. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gN2T5YM3orw (external link)

I think the sky is what's "missing" in this photo. A bit earlier and you'd have gotten some much needed color in the sky, which is what this photo needs, I think.

It's a great vantgage point, and I'd definitely keep trying until you get the sky you need for it.

If I ever get to go back to Seattle (I'm in Chicago), I will definitely have another go at it, especially since I have my 50D now, and not my Rebel.

No, I didn't retake, just revisited the processing a bit. When I originally processed/resized, it lost some detail.

Yes, taken from the 17th floor of the Warwick hotel.
