Looking for an outstanding CPL filter for 58mm used on the kit lens and 55-250mm IS. Any recommendations? I have been reading this review:

http://www.lenstip.com …_Results_and_summary.html (external link)

which pointed me to the

Marumi DHG Super Circular P.L.D

filter which seems to offer the best bang for the buck. I wonder what your opinion about this filter is (if you happen to own and use one)? What do you use and recommend? What are you waiting for after extensive research?

I am not really keen about spending a 100$ on a CPL but understand from experience that cheap is usually bad as it affects all your pictures and turns the best lens into a potato...

A.

P.S.: I have been posting this in the lens section before and was reminded of putting it somewhere else. I thought it might be the right place here...

You can do a search of the accessory forum...handful of threads about the filter with sample images, most or all of which had a noticeable blue color cast to them. Only you know for sure what your budget is, but if you could swing it, I'd recommend the B+W MRC polarizer (either the K or non-K model). A 58mm CPL shouldn't be overly expensive...its when you get to 77mm and up that the price gets appreciably higher. The Marumi may have a "good" price, but who wants to deal with an unnecessary color cast?
