Weekend before last we went camping in the Park. Had a great time. We drove toward Cedar Grove and stopped along the way to get these photos of the Kings Canyon. Even at this altitude there is considerably haze (smog) in the area. I hope to try again after the weather cools and the air gets better.

Beautiful, Skip. You got nice blue skies and puffy white clouds, despite the smog.

I like the second on a lot. The river(?) on the bottom left and the road on the right draw the eyes. And then with all the other prominent lines the eyes just get taken for a ride. Cool.

You can take my 100-400 L away when you pry it from my cold, dead fingers.

Thanks Stan, I did have a little help from Picasa2.

You need to see it in person Scottes. It is HUGE. It is the Kings Rriver on the left, the road to Cedar Grove on the right and the Monarch Divide in the center. You are looking 25+ miles up either arm of the canyon.

Ed2day, thanks for looking. Back in the day I also worked in Giant Forest and Grant Grove for Yosemite Park & Curry Company. When you get out again give us a call.

Bluedog_XT, sorry about the sensor dirt. Picasa2 does not have a clone tool. I had no idea how much dirt it could pick up camping :( Of course this happy campershould have given me a clue.

Thanks Sandy. Today (8-12-05) set a new record of 21 days of 100 degrees or more. Tomorrow is predicted to be only 99 degrees. Previous record was 20 days in 1984.
