hello to everyone and thank you for the photographs
I loved all of the entries very much and it is difficult making any choices as many are firm favourites, all in different ways
photos listed in order as they came
No 1 ubermich
'fences and gates'
its exactly what it says on the tin ...... the showing of gates and fences together
unusual to see the likes exactly like so. nice tops on the gates
nice capture. I lke the lighting too
'A rooster on a fence on a farm on a fence'
ha ha ha ha
pull the other one
love the colours , the mixture and the crazy disorientated appearance
countrylife at its magical best
and I love the pointed tops of railings peeping through
great capture. perfect title. flower power is here alright., and the defences are down
its like as though they tried and tried to break through ...
some even succeeded to knock down those lovely 'slats' with their winning ways right through to the other side
love what the message is 'saying'
' A River Runs through it '
Gosh, what a flood
. hope everyone was ok around there Carolyn
beautiful railings and they really show up the amount of swirling water gushing all around
' And I have miles to go before I sleep'
the walk through here must be very pleasant and well worth going that extra mile I would imagine
you took a lovely angle with photo of the fence
leading up to the arched gateway the setting is magic
through the arch looks a little too over exposed to complete the scene really well
'Papers Please'.. entrance to a cemetery dating back to the 1800's'
well seen this fence and entrance is perfect and lovely as a small sign of protection around an historical and burial mound
smashing display on the hoarding fence so colourful by the side of the street
and special lights above it I imagine making it very attractive as night falls
........ and well taken
'Wrought with a Twist'
excellent fence, looks like a huge metal spider or maybe like a crab...... just hanging on there
great angle and terrific sight
(wonder is it near a dam)
marvellous makeshift fence. wonderful how it was put together
really nice to see it and the photo
'please stay on the path for your own safety and enjoyment'
as the people round the corner ahead seems special
and the chain fence is in keeping with the beautiful area
'Old Cemetery Gate'
Gorgeous detail and colours. love the stonework railings and 'caps' ...not sure what they would be called,
except beautiful probably
its a very pretty scene for a fence, delightful sight. I bet children love it
' urban nonsense '
what a collaboration of 'danger, keep out or else' , ' enter .....at your peril' , kind of thing
maybe there are prisoners somewhere there, behind those twisted wires
a great capture to get ......... the picture is
best Congratulations to the Winner
# 1 Teekay
to runner up # 2 Kevan
to #3 Michael Wells
all well deserved
great pictures, thanks to everyone
: )Hello everyone
my apologies for the delay in starting
for the subject of this challenge I was thinking ......
(I try not to do it too often )
(think that is)
its about : fences and gates
even the thought of them may seem slightly mundane ,
but without them ?
what wood we do
they can be beautiful sometimes, are so essential in many instances
even at their worst (weather beaten etc ) they somehow manage to look good, old age creeping along slightly twisted and wrought iron limbs
or beloved wooden slats (not sluts) bent to the wind, moss maybe in their creases, maybe rotting with neglect
(get over it marie) ..... they always seem to have character
photos of the best angles showing whatever fences (or gates) are maybe favourites in your area, maybe with that character
( the photographer another character )
hopefully my defences (:p) will be down when judging and I will have them all as winners.
I look forward to seeing them
and may the best gate crash
not Bill now... but gates which hang around and help to protect certain areas from the bulls...
