Hi good shots...Just wonder if you used flash and/or reflector in most of the shots? If flash is used, did you use slave as well?

Thanks in advance,

James

Happy partner to EOS5DMKII and new Canon L lenses 16-35L, 24-105L, 50 1.2L, 100 Macro 2.8L and possibly growing....:)

Nice pictures, what lighting? I see a lot of isolated hot spots

Nice photo and model.

I find that 1 and 6 the use of reflector is too direct. The first photo parts of her body looks blown out. On the 6th photo around her rib cage and upper stomach area.

I also new to reflectors, bought one but have not tried any outdoor photos yet. Have you tried feathering the reflector rather than directly at the subject.

My thinking while taking photos in the shade reflecting towards the subject is ok, but in bright sun light feathering it might look more natural?

I forgot to mention on your 3 and 4th photo since she is turned to her left I would have her on the other side the photo(left side).

Overall good job and beautiful model.

watch your cropping too; cut off fingers, crops at joints, etc. Some of them are also tight in the frame. Give her a little breathing room. And ditto on the lighting; seems pretty harsh

In general can you tell us where the sun was and where the reflector position was in relation to the model?

#1 does not flatter her abs. #7 is kind of bright for having her posed in the shade but is done nicely; the lighting in #5 is really nice too - it looks like a completely different swimsuit. Lots of hot spots and tight crops, as mentioned... Also, those sunglasses (5 &6) are too big for her face.

Thanks for all the comments. Some of the hot spots some are referring to may be from PP. I was playing around with a small amount of Diffuse Glow which may have enhanced some already hot spots. The sun was very tough. Pretty much directly overhead. Would love to have shot later in the day, but this was a meetup group shoot. Reflector and flash with umbrella were used during the shoot. Thanks again for the comments and critiques.

Too over exposed...
pic 7 is not flattering for her at all...
5 is your best, but the kneecap is cropped off.
IMHO

then shoot smaller aperture to compensate- like F16.

I agree with Hawk911...
the camera has a built in light meter, shoot at 2-3 stops down and the image will look amazing!

The quality of the light is not too great. Pretty harsh really.
Keep practicing!

Yep. Lighting is all over the place and the PP is too. You have some nice posses and a beautiful model.
Get away from using crazy editing, get the images you want with the camera and clean them up in PS.
Looks like you're trying to use PS to create your images.
You need to create the image as best as possible and use PS to finish process them without adding blending that ruins them
Sorry. You have a great subject. Let her natural beauty be the focal point of your images.
