Possible to auto-rapidfire with the Canon G5?

Or would I need another model to do that?

I know the G5 has the intervalometer option but I don't want to do time-lapse (which would be 1 shot every minute or more), what I'm trying to do is rapid fire, ie - 1 or 2 auto shots per second (or more) for about a minute or two.

Sorry if it's a newbie question but I can't find any info on this or how to do it. If the G5 can't do this, would you have some recommendations as to a nice "budget" model which can?

Thanks in advance for any help!
