His face isn't sharp, you seem to have missed focus. Next to that, his skin has a yellow/green tint, WB is off.

Changing the yellow/greenish tint of his skin in something more natural would already greatly benefit this image. Other than that, it's a nice spontaneous photo for a first portrait. :)

WB off, and it is more of a candid shot then a portrait, but that's how we all start ;)

Thanks, I just checked.. WB is on Auto.. What settings work best in-doors with lights like these? (I'm using Canon EOS1000D aka Rebel XS.

In photoshop, go to Hue Saturation and in the drop down menu got ot yellows and bring your yellows down and maybe a little unsharp mask to sharpen the photo.

Alright, just so you know - for past couple of days or so I've been shooting only in RAW and I read here at potn that you can select the white balance in the computer if shooting in this format.. P.s: I'm using LR3 and DPP.

Easiest way to fix WB IMO is to always shoot raw to start with and then search youtube for lightroom 3 tutorials. You can search on lightroom 3 white balance.

Also - read your manual on how to set a custom white balance and get a gray card.

Thanks a lot man - The grey card trick seems to fix the job :)
