In a number of occasions I tried to find good forums for specific makes of cars. With one exception, all I found are, well, very modest sites.

So was wondering if there are good places to start searching for good auto forums.

Appreciate any advice. Thanks.

I used google to find the one I frequent. I literally typed "BMW Car Forum" and found http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum/ (external link)

I guess google is hit or miss though. What kind of forum are you looking for?

I have to recomend www.automotiveforums.com (external link)

Altough how much you might get out of it depends on what your looking for, its rather large and there is some differnce in quality between differnt sub-forums depending on who mods it, what sort of members it attracts etc.
But its has a nice friendly comunity underneath, and pretty much every make and model ever made is covered.

So long and thanks for all the flash

Interesting, I found them all using google... :)

Experimentation is the key, Land Rover Forum, Range Rover Forum, Land Rover message board, Land Rover truck forum, etc. etc.

Its in the top 100 in terms of member numbers and unique hits :)
But the owner has a really good deal with google which helps.
The only problem is it's a pain in the ass to moderate.

I can imagine that. And that's one of the reasons I didn't like it. Imagine POTN being a forum of all makes, all formats. It will be an ugly place me think :D
