I just picked up a Lowepro Classified 200 AW and it should be arriving tomorrow. If any one owns this bag, could you please share your experiences? I would appreciate any feedback. Thanks! :)

Hate it and hardly ever use it - I much prefer the Lowepro flipside I have - I only use the Classified in situations where it would be annoying to carry a rucksack (lots of loose straps)and where it looks better to carry a bag (functions/indoor photos) especially if I am also dressed up.

While its quite good to be able to access the cameras from the top of the bag, the large flap is really annoying.

The bag is heavy (for me) and I find it very uncomfortable one one shoulder and too heavy when carrying it in my hand.

It also hardly fits 2 slr's with lenses attached (pointing downwards)- you can get them in but only one is easy to get out.

this is only my (very) personal opinion - you may love it!

Thanks! I guess all bags aren't created equal. :) Between this and my TT UD 50, I find the Lowepro well designed over the TT. This is my opinion of course but, I do like all the compartments. As you said, I like the access from top of the bag. This is what attracted me to it. Most bags with flaps would turn me off including the Crumpler brand or any messenger type bag. I find it a nuisance to open the entire bag just to get to my camera. The outer pockets under the flap would be secondary to grab a lens pen, cloth, CF card, flash, etc which doesn't bug me at all. I'm going on a trip to Paris in October and I want to keep pick pockets away. So, this is the best option for me imo. :) Thanks for your feedback.

For my needs the Classified 160 barely fits my needs perfectly. But the bag in general is very functional and easy to use. It fits my 70-200Lii, 24Lii and body (with either lens attached) and it still has enough room for a flash. If it weren't for the 70-200 behemoth, I could fit another lens I believe.

I am about to purchase a lens case or storage pocket to add on to the classified and it will be perfect.

Thanks for your feedback with your Classified. So far, I'm able to fit a Canon 1Ds MK III with 70-200 attached(lens hood reversed), 24-70, 85 L(no hood), & 24 L II (hood reversed). Under the flap, I have a G11, lens pens, CF cards, CPLs, Demb Flip-it, & Iphone. On the outside, I have a flash pouch for my 5800 EX II and last but not least, an iPad in the back compartment. This is really pushing towards real heavy but, I was just curious to see what I can fit in the 200 AW. :)

I was going to buy the classified 160, but when I tried it at the store. I find the bag too bulky and too complicated for normal usage.

i tried out several bags in terms of price.

for its size, this has no space for my gear (two bodies, two flashes, and 5-6 lenses). the canon backpack sells for 35 bucks, has more room, but looks a bit goofy and i can fit:

1000d body, d200 body, nissin flash, canon flash, nikon and canon 50s, tammy 18-250, sigma 70-200, nikon and canon 18-55s, and canon 28-135. it's a bit snug, but i couldn't do that with a bag that costs four times as much.

That's why you have to buy more than one bag. All bags serve a different purpose. :)

I'm having a look at a 200 next week as I have a 300 sling back but I want something a bit more portable when the need for it arrises . From what I see the 200 will give me more than enough room for situational use with room to spare .

I suggest putting the bag on your shoulder and see if it's feels too bulky for you. To me, the size of the bag is fine. I don't plan to over pack it when I'm walking around.

I have a total of 5 bags and each is for a different purpose, but the one i use the most is the classified 160 aw. In my opinion its works great for me, especially in the urban areas. I use it as an everyday kind of bag fits my Canon 7D with a 17-55mm, two primes, and flash. i like how it looks like an average laptop bag and decent padding. and the top zipper where you access the camera, is very nice. they designed it when opened no one else can see inside your bag but you or unless they are right above you lol. Overall i myself love the classified 160. the only complain i have about it is a little too bulky. i guess if they remove one of the external pockets and made the bag wider instead of taller design it be thinner. But to me its great.
