Haven't posted surf pic's here for the longest time. Here's some shots I took a couple of days ago. They're from Bowls and Kewalo's from the same afternoon.

Thanks Roy. And may I take this opportunity to give you a hearty thumbs up on the surf shots you've been posting in this forum. I enjoy them alot.

There was a lot of action that afternoon and choosing which pic's to post was a problem. I burned through four eight gig CF cards in about 3 hours so I had a lot of reviewing to do. Also, I'm still finding my way around CS5 but live and learn as they say...:D

Great shots!

I like number three the best, because he is doing the classic Bowls LB or BK move.

When I was about thirteen I went to a Swapmeet and found tons of Surfer Magazines from 1972-1976, and BK was all the rage, along with Larry Bertleman.

LB in particular had the total skate/surf approach to that wave (Ala Moana) and was just incredible.

One thing I miss most about those days was that a third of the photos in the magazine named the surfer as "unidentified".

In other words: Stoke counted for more than making a sponsor happy. A good shot was run, even if the surfer was a complete unknown.

Fat chance getting good South Shore shots into a mag these days. It's all about Pipe, Choopoo and the regular spots.

Ooops, sorry.

Great pics.

Thank you. bw!

Wow, thanks for the kind words guys. I hope you had as much fun viewing the pic's as I had shooting them.

> mikekelley, LOL at the SUP comment.

> mikefairbanks, yeah, now that you mention it, I do recall those unidentified surfer shots from back then. In fact my cousin who's about 10 yrs. older than me was a regular contributor back then when magic island was just a dream in some urban planner's mind. If only I had kept my copies, I'd cherish them now. Good find on those mag's.

> MarkII, I've never been to the home of the yellow rose, but I do recall seeing some really nice surf shots awhile ago from around the Galveston area?

> silvex, thanks! Your surf shots are pro quality all the way. Keep posting'um up!

> Jaewhy, SOCAL had a really great winter/spring this past season, no? I remember all those huge storms way up north passing Hawaii by and hitting Cali head on with some really nice swells. Wish I were there then.

> paddleout, not to fear, you guys always seem to get some really nice surf every year from what I've been seeing in the surf mag's.

> chiangrai, thanks!

> tony rage, Isn't he though, that looks like one guy that I don't want to get run over by on my way out to the lineup.

Thanks, It's also one of my faves from that afternoon.

Yes, I did PP those pic's, but mostly to get the shots decent looking on the web. The pic's lose a lot of sharpness and color depth when posting on websites, so I tend to compensate for that in CS5. I just get the shots to a point where I think it'll look as good as it's going to get on the web and cross my fingers from there on in.;)

Also, I jumped from CS2 to CS5, and messed around with LR, so the learning curve is still in play as you've probably noticed in the pic's I've posted.:D
