So do I understand this correctly? Our 5D Mark II will only bracket 3 photos automatically? I'm using the AEB function and I can't seem to figure out how the make it take more than just 3 photos.

In AV, it doesn't take much to spin the quick control dial, add in some +/- exp compensation and take another 3 bracketed exposures, even works in live view. If your quick, it pretty much continuous.

Hmm.... Thanks for the great chart! :)

I'm coming from using a Nikon D700 at my previous job. I'll just add this to the short list of things I like better about that camera. (too bad Nikon doesn't shoot 1080p video)

That's a great point! So you take three +/- 2 bracketed shots, then spin the exposure compensation to -1.0, press the shutter (three more photos) then the exposure compensation to _1.0, press the shutter (three more photos). Total of 9 bracketed photos. Is that what you're suggesting?

Three exposures is fine for most situations. If you are doing one exposure or three, it's important to get right in the camera from the onset..

Third or half stop either side of your metered exposure is enough..

Yep, that's basically it, although I'm bracketting at one extreme first and then compensating down/up . eg. set bracketting range max to +2 and then compensating down
