Filter arguments aside, assuming I WANTED to buy a general UV filter for protection... I ordered this one with my Sigma 30 f/1.4. Is that right?

What's sad is it cost basically the same as the ProMaster filters I've been getting from the local B&M that probably aren't anywhere near as good.
