I have an old screw mount Vivitar lens 85-210 1:38. I also got an m42 to ef adapter.
I wondering about the lens on my Rebel. It works at and yes no AF. But, would the lens still be 85-210mm on a digital or does it convert up?

The 85-210 will relate in focal lengths to your 18-55, i.e. it will start about 50% longer than your kit lens at its longest and go out to four times the magnification you get at 55mm. That's all you need to know. Focal lengths do not change by switching cameras; only the field of view, and as you only have one camera, there's nothing to worry about. Mark.

Just multiply the minimum and maximum zoom range numbers by 1.6 to get the new zoom range for the XT. I also have an XT and bought the M42 to EOS adapter. However I got the one with the focus confirmation chip (dandelion chip as it's called) on it and it works.
