Hi there

I just had a brilliant idea. In stead of printing out all my photos, I want to now put it into a digital photo display so that it will change pics every few seconds. (digital photo frame )

Can I ask what is a good brand / price / size I would be looking for?
Where is the best place to buy this? ? amazon ? new egg? bhphoto ?

Thanks so much

I have a Philips 10 in I bought from Walmart a few years ago. Works like a charm. They still have a similar model and they are not less than $100.

Thought about buying a used laptop? Screen's usually going to be bigger, hard drive will handle more photos, the resolution is typically better and you can often attach a separate monitor to it. Somewhere or other I saw someone's project to pull a laptop apart and build it into a custom frame.

Thanks Jon. Interesting idea. But I am getting this for my 83 yo grandma. She does not know anything about this techy stuff.

I saw the sunpak 15 inch in amazon, wonder if any one has any experience in this one?

In general I think screen resolution and size are your first two priorities, followed of course by price. That said, you said this is for Grandma. If she lives with you or nearby this may be of no interest, but there are models, like the Kodak Pulse (external link), which let you upload pics remotely via email.

Our description says, "The Pulse is designed in such a way so that you can easily refresh its contents via an e-mail from across town or from across the country. The frame can be programmed with its own unique e-mail address so your kids can send you a photo while they are in the park, or you can send a photo to your friend's frame while you are on that special vacation. The Pulse automatically links to friends and photo albums on Facebook and Kodak Gallery sites, so you can see new pictures on your frame when they're posted."
