I received my CMT waterhousing today, before i jumped in the water i checked it out and it looked amazing. i just happen to be at the ocean today, and jumped right in. we have a pretty nice swell here today and this is what i got out of it. if you are experenced please let me know if you can put anything out there for focus of the 15mm fish eye, also how do you plan your shot.

both images were shot with a 5D MKii, a 15mm fisheye, and the CMT waterhousing.

no it was not bad, i also have a full ikelite system for one of my other cameras, and have had it leak in salt water from user error, as long as you check for leaks often with any case you are pretty safe. the ikelite is a ok system for diving i have had a few issues with it, but the CMT housing for surf is a great addition to my equipment. and no i have not seen that thread yet i am going to have to link some images for it. what i was looking for with this thread is i have heard of people setting focus to manual and shooting waves that way. i had it set on auto focus but the camera would try to focus in the best time to shoot the wave, so i need to shoot full manual focus and all i just did not know what people were setting it to and how they were setting there aperture to still get a crisp clean shot.

Would you care to show a photo of your new housing setup- it has always intrigued me what they look like with a camera in them.

Thanks.

Very nice! People look at me like I'm crazy when I take pictures in the waves! It's also a nice way to meet girls who are interested in photography. Now, if only the wife would let me go by myself! :-)

Equipment list - According to the wife - "how many more lenses do you need? Yet another camera?" ???

this is the housing that jay over at CMT hooked my up with. it is mostly carbon fiber and has taken a beating in the few days that i have had it. i am going to go shoot some surfers in the morning so we will see how that goes and i will see about posting some images of them in the morning.

gotta love the women that go there to check out the surfers and end up chatting with me for ever, and even better are the fit women surfers that want to meet up with you later when you have your computer so they can see some of the images of them.... great way to have them go out to dinner with you, not that ever happens.
bw!
