As a newcomer to both digital photography and this forum I thought I would post a photo of a sunflower I captured today with my Canon 400D using a Canon 55-250mm EF-S lens. Exposure was 1/250 sec at f/7.1, with ISO set at 200.

Any comments gratefully received as I am just getting to know the camera a little more each day.

You have to upload off of an outside source, and not your hard drive. The image needs to start with

IMAGE NOT FOUND
Content warning: NOT AN IMAGE
as well. I use Photobucket, which takes quite a bit of the details out, but it still does enough of the job for me.

Thanks for that - I will have to take a look at setting up something on Photobucket or similar. :)

It's a little too centered for my taste. Look up the rule of thirds to get an idea of how to fix that. Of course, rules are always made to be broken. Yellows and oranges such as this can be hard to not overblow or saturate and lose details on, and other than a few of the petals at the very top, the exposure (to me) looks good! Keep practicing. Tuck photos away for a year, and then go back and redo the subject before you look at the old ones. It's amazing how much progress can slowly be made without you even realizing it!
