Had a chance to do an eshoot with an awesome couple on friday.

Mostly shot with a 7d + 85mm f/1.8 - although the environmental one was a 24-70mm f/2.8. Was planning on setting up my strobes but only ended up doing it for one location and it didn't make the cut. The natural light was working out better. C&C welcome...

I love 1, 2 and 3. I'm not sure I like the processing on 4, but I like the pic itself. I would like 5 better if her eyes were closed. :)

Thx - [4] is all sunlight, I only tweaked the contrast and sharpened her up. I think I do have a [5] with eyes closed...I'll see how that one looks, thanks!

Thanks @jay-d & @michelle brooks

Yea 85mm + 50mm f/1.2 are my favs for lenses, although I am currently looking for replacing my recently sold 16-35mm for a 24mm f/1.4...

I think I just love primes :-)

Great shots! #1. I'm not to keen on, but I get what you where looking for and love the texture of the stone, cool shot though. # 2&5 are just great shots, was there any post sharpening? #4, i'm a sucker for the late afternoon sun, the colors and the flare you get can't be beat. I would like to see it a tad bit sharper, like 2&5, but hey, that's just my pref. Awesome job!!

Thanks,
wroberts

Thanks for the comments!- I sharpened all the large files up in PS after editing/retouching, but I think in aperture there is no post sharpened after resizing for web?? I may be wrong on this...

This is sharpened (the small one) back up in PS (the re-sized). Much better I think. What do you use for sharpening especially for the smaller blog/facebook-sized images? I've heard a lot of good things about the nik sharpener pro...

BTW the 7d files need a LOT of sharpening. Good thing I just got a 5d Mk II :-) so happy you have no idea.

Yep, that makes it better, and yes the Mk II gets my thumbs up. I love it for so many reasons but that's another post. Because I'm a PC guy I use Lightroom and CS5, but in Lightroom there is an element named clarity, I will normally boost this a little which gives it a little more edge. For web images, I'll do all my normal adjustments and then resize to the needed pixel size, and sharpen at that point. It takes very little sharpening. I know Kevin Kubota has an action (magic sharpener) that will handle this. Again, multiple ways to do this, that's just a way I learned.

Thanks,
wroberts
