Good evening Neil

A few years ago Colin Rawlinson wrote the Shire album on 500cc Racing
Cars. Since then he has been researching and writing a much more
expanded history of 500s which is due to be published shortly. Colin has
been given a number of images by Nigel Ashman for use in the book but we
noticed that three of them bear your copyright (NHR5670.jpg. NHR5677.jpg
and NHR5722.jpg). All of them are from the 2009 April Mallory Park meeting.

Would you please advise whether it would be possible to use these images
in the book and, if so, whether a fee is payable so that Colin and I may
decide whether to include them or not.


Your prompt attention to this matter would be much appreciated.

That is certainly a lot better than them just turning up with little chance of being spotted.

It seems that someone out there thinks he can give your images away will-nilly too...

They are getting back to me, I am sure we can work something out

Wow - people with integrity. At least they have asked you if you mind them being included and if you wish a fee.

99/100 times folks would have just used them anyway (the ones who don't know copyright).

Hope they use them and give you some financial consideration!

I guess if your fee is reasonable they would be willing to pay. Otherwise, just ask them to credit you for the photos.

I'd hide now if i were you. Giving photos away for no other reason than seeing your name in print isn't a popular (or wise) thing to do
