Hey everyone - this was my first try at shooting racing. I live in Watkins and a friend hooked me up with a ticket to get in and a tailgate pass for turn one. (i didn't have a media pass so this was as close as i could get!) This was also my first time doing panning shots...what do you think? i know my shutter speed was a little high in some of them, but i was having trouble getting anything good under 250. Guess it just takes practice! plus the cars go so dang fast! lol

I like the pans - and I feel you on the shutter speed when panning, its just practice, practice, practice... After a couple days I started getting stuff in focus nicely @ 1/125.

Looks good although I HATE nascar... at least in this track they turn both ways...

thank you to both of you!!

liberation - i actually always hated nascar too just bc i live here and it brings in sooo many people. going anywhere is impossible because there is SO much traffic. this was my first time going to a race and i actually kind of enjoyed it! (minus all the drunks lol)

They look great, nicely done.

It's been a few years since I visited Watkins Glen. That was SCCA.
