STICKY:  How to photograph a high school Senior

Instead of going through countless threads on " take a look at my Senior Shots and tell me what you think "-- how about we MAKE A STICKY and post no more than 3 shots. That way, were going through 1 thread of great images instead of looking all over the place. Your Thought's ??

Im hoping that Tony, Pham, Tiff, myself and others that do this alot and some of the really good High school senior Photographers that post in here will contribute to make this a great learning spot for everyone.

So I will start it off

I really like this idea. It would keep the forum less cluttered & would allow us to have one great resource for viewing, C&C, & getting ideas.

ETA: Really like your last shot!

I don't like the idea. If you're going to do it for senior portraits, you might as well do it for family portraits too as well as "pic of my daughter" posts.. the list can go on and on...

I think it's a great idea and have seen it on other forums as well. I'll see what I can come up with from my boring midwest senior photography.

I was trying to get one spot where those that photograph High School seniors could go to share ideas,show off the work and get some critique, gain lighting tips, just a good area for those that photograph High school seniors for a living and for those that want to learn how. Pham has put out some great tutorials, tony puts out great work and information,i plan to put out a couple as well. Just seems like every other post is a high school senior post, we have guys/gals posting 8,9,10 shots for sets (which is cool) and it tends to get a little out of hand.

Im thinking that you pick your best 3 from a session and post them. If you want to share anything else great. If people want to ask questions or make comments,,great.

I like it. I will contribute.

I'd prefer to see more, not less.

The idea has merrit, but I'm OK either way.

BTW, #2 is great... #3 ROCKS! I love the idea!

How do you get a model/subject into the water without them looking wet above the waterline? I assume lots of pre-planning on what the shot will be and work from the outside in?!!?

she backed in very slowly until i told her to stop,,,about 30 seconds of planning. Wait untill you see tiffanys water shots,,they are killer shots.

I like the idea. I like being able to go to one thread, subscribe to one thread and see the multitudes of ideas posted.

I have never done photos for money, here is one of my friend's senior pics, i'll post a few up for suggestions! I have been lurking on here for a while, and this is my first post. I hope you enjoy them as much as I enjoy taking photos as well!

n/m I guess I gotta work on how to resize it. Can I do this through elements? or do I need to use other software?

I know 3 pics were thrown out there, but here are 4, please give me honest feedback, I havn't been doing this long, and I read a lot and talk to a lot of people to get feedback, thanks in advance

also, any idea why these look a little grainy? I have blown lots up of 8x10's and havn't gotten this distortion... maybe it was from resizeing?
