@ Mike and BoneJi

i use the quadra on the alum pole with the kacey adaptor...

the quadra is very light weight. almost lighter than a speed light. but 8 times the power

now putting an alien bee on the pole is a bit much, i would say that would be way too heavy for mothers to hold for me.. unless you have a good assistant..

i don't use the alien bee with the deep octa at all...

Thanks Pham

One more question. are you only using one 580 or do you use a dual set up. Everyone is using this Quadra or a 24x24 Q box. This Quadra looks impressive.

Working with my lovely MUA we ran a charity event for our local fire dept and ems.

Our prices were $30 for just a fun eye and lashes and $60 for the full on funkiness. We raised $135 after meeting our costs. Not a lot but it'll buy the firemen beer for a while....so says fire chief hubster.

But, goodwill is goodwill, cash is cash and we got to create some buzz.

We have two more days of this planned....one already 100% booked.

Alena, sophomore

haha

I see you like those metal backdrops:p..very cool:cool:. One suggestion and im going to try it as well. Stop it down a little more and get some more contrast with the light. I really like the shots here and the make up artists are fun for stuff like this. Good for you guys. Nice work.

Are you shooting with continuous light? Just wondering why you are having to shoot ISO 400.

Tiff

get the main closer and get the exposure up on the model. Maybe f/11-16. That should darken the backdrop and then re-light the backdrop to get the beads on the metal fabric to pop. Im going to try it this week when a couple of girls come in for sessions:cool:

Pham.. How do you get the whole frame in such sharp focus, when shooting at F4? Even with a F1.2 lens, is this not a bit wide open? I tried F5.6 with my 85/1.8 and I still have DOF issues...

I know, the thumb looks cut off, I notice this after, but I still like the pose.

I like this barn, and it was suppose to be the uncle's but when we got there, it turned out it wasnt. To bad, I was going to ask him for permission to use it, its a bit of a drive though.

I thought I would have fun with a black and white effect, maybe I should have used more green/blue than red to get the skin a bit darker.

I got many more pictures, im just waiting for the ok to show them. :)

Ah - Thought you were going after the "you cannot post more than x images unless someone asks" rule.

No worries...
