No. Id imagine since he is "still going through them" they probably are either SOOC or SOORC (raw converter).

Maybe add another light in the back for some hair/rim light. I always carry one additional light but it ends up in the car when I need it. The 2nd shot needs to be taken earlier in the day or with strobe at very low power but higher ISO to bring back the ambient. I had same issue last night as my AB800 doesn't go low enough. Thanks for the pointers Bobby. umphotography wrote in post #12990392 Bobby I like that a lot. I love when mother nature gets involved. Good stuff ![]() +1 very cool Thank you Mike apixelintime wrote in post #12990466 Jen - you have come a long way since I first started noticing your work. I owe a TON of credit to this thread and all the photographers here who have put up with me and helped me out SO much you all have not only made me want to be a better photographer, but also gave me the knowledge to do it. I still have a ways to go before I can get up to snuff with everyone here, but I moving in the right direction! umphotography wrote in post #12991834 Went to a place called munsinger Gardens last night. Still going through them but its a great spot for portraits. I used the sun on the last shot as a main light and filled with the softbox ![]() Well dadgum! What more could you ask for in a location?! these are great- All of them. Jennifer

They certainly don't look bad, just something that I personally wouldn't show to a client. Damned if I didn't pack the wrong power cable for my monolight and had to use a bare speedlight on manual with my daughter holding it on a yongnous radio slave instead of a softbox. I am serious....and don't call me Shirley.

The exposure in some seems a tad under compared to what I would do but other than that I don't know what you saying. Fuji XT-1, 18-55mm

I do very little post processing. I shoot RAW, import to lightroom, make minor adjustments, remove obvious blems, and smooth when necessary. Very little of anything else. Im more about getting it right in the camera, and minor adjustments after. 99% of the outdoor work i post is not a final product, just the way i would present it to a client for consideration. At that point it gets final processed. Like i say, some skin smoothing when necessary, but thats about it. I can do a lot of the creative stuff in photoshop, but i prefer to shoot it right and present the way it was actually captured. Mike

I really am not a fan of manipulating images to the point that it changes what actually took place. I use photoshop to enhance what we got. Im a photographer not a graphic designer who specializes in the use of photoshop. while i like the look, and i get it close on a final presented product that a client would purchase, my preferred way is to get it right in the camera, present, let the client select, and then finalize for print. I dont have the time to final process a file just to post on the forum. Mike

I dont have the time to final process a file just to post on the forum. We dont do as many seniors as tiff, we photographed about 20 paying clients this year and photographed 19 weddings, plus our other portrait and family work. The business does well, but, we are a 2 person operation, so we have to get things right in the camera to save time. Photoshop just takes up too much time for us at this stage for our business, however, we are at the point where we have hired a graphic artist to start doing some of the post processing work and develop some new looks. Its been a fun 5 year run and its finally to the point where we can expand. So maybe now the graphic guy can develop some fancy photoshop looks. I just dont have the time at this point. +1 on that. Not sure what "under processed" actually means. I'm curious how the "proper" amount of processing would be defined. I am serious....and don't call me Shirley.
