I could be wrong, but I think the coolness issue is that flash is 5000-5500k, whereas the golden hour light on the trees behind is more like 6500-7500k. I think you'd need to gel your flash to match the ambient in that situation.

How hard would it be to correct this issue in PP with a mask and color adjustment?

Shouldnt be too difficult. Make a jpeg of each color temp, overlay them, perhaps do a selection and mask away.

Not hard... though there are a couple of options. Correct the white balance for the subject, which would make the trees extremely warm, or balance both with each other. At this point its a personal taste thing, but I will likely just correct the overall image's white balance for the subject, and let the trees/sky be overly warm. I find most clients prefer images to be warmer, especially around this time of year.

I don't really shoot seniors but was approached on last minute by a good friend whose niece needed photos done and this is what I ended up with. I did get paid for my time and I promised them one photo. C+C always welcome and appreciated.

one of best implementation of this pose that I have seen in last bunch of tries by different folks. Keep it up.

edited- Jeremy I like those softball shots. Only one which doesn't work for me is that pose lying on grass which shows half the body with other half missing.

Ezra those are truly astounding! As in, magazine-quality astounding. Care to share how they were lit and processed (even if briefly)? I am learning a lot from the POTN community.

Well, these are all win shots here. Great balance of ambient/flash. I'm sure they'll be happy.

I just got my first pair of glasses that I didn't think I needed. I apologize to anybody in the past year that I said their pictures were out of focus lol.
