I think its one of those things that is somewhat insignificant on its own, but really "completes" the photo when taken in context with all of the other technical aspects. a proverbial cherry. If you're catering to the higher end of the market, cherries are essential, at least in my opinion.

Ive screwed around with DIY's and they simply do not get the look that the eye lighter gives. Ive got a lastolie triflector that im going to sell. If anyone wants it make me an offer i cant refuse and its yours It does a decent job but It doesnt do what i want it to do. Mike

I am actually surprised that some of you Photoshop wizards don't just add that catchlight in post. It seems to me that would be easier, and you could place it perfectly every time.
