A few of Laura. C/C is welcome.

EDIT: Added warmer versions of 1, 3, 5. I appreciate the feedback that the initial versions were too cool. I think these are better...agree?1.

Mike, I feel like your flash is a tad too hot and could do with a bit of orange gel. Other than that, love 1 and 4.

To me the flash has that bare flash look. Could be wrong.

Thank you to everyone that has commented thus far. Sounds like I'm close to figuring this out :)

This is not bare flash, a Speedlite 580 EXII in a CheetahBox 24 was used as main and a 430 EXII with a 6x7 pocketbox as fill, typically.

In previous attempts I felt I was slightly under exposed so I pushed it a little further this time. Some of these I dialed back a little in CameraRaw and warmed but may have to try again. After a long stint of editing I suffer Photoshop blindness :)

Thanks again!

Hi Mtn4Mike,

to me it looked like the speedlite did not have a gel on it..

the face looks cold and the surrounding looks warm.. color temp difference..

i would recommend you have 1/4 CTO gel loaded on the next run to get that better warmer colors.

Very nice max. Not sure about it for a senior shot though. I had a friend of a parent ask if the girl were naked for a similar shot and have not went for something like that since.

You can't control parents, and you certainly can't control stupid people who may or may not be their friends.

My guess is that in almost all of these senior shoots, the parents are the ones paying, and they are the ones buying the larger prints and packages. I would also guess they aren't buying a 20x30 because it is a "senior portrait", they are buying your images because it is a shot of their child that is unlike anything else they have.
