I just did a quicky search and the price on their units aren't all that bad really...

http://www.amazon.com …1297875133&sr=1-1-catcorr (external link)

206 for a 600w unit. It even has a low battery voltage alarm, that's a pretty cool feature right there.

Can any sine wave inverter replace the one that came with the Vagabond II provided all numbers match up?

I am beginning to think my original inverter is going junk...the battery still tests ok but when I'm using the VBII after a short time it starts to make long beeps.

After talking to PCB they said the battery may be sulfating, so I took the battery to a battery warehouse and had the voltage checked and they said it was fine..hmmm. PCB wants $70 for a replacement battery, 12v/20a and this battery business (that's all they do) brought out a 12v/18a with the same exact dimensions for $50...so I called PCB and they said it would still work as a replacement, just wouldn't last as long....the original battery is about 3 years old.

did they do a load test or just surface voltage test?

auto zone will do a full test on ac AC Delco battery tester that can then better determine the life of the battery..

i have to send my 3rd battery back to PCB in the next 2 weeks being they are still under one year old.

As long as you are putting out the same wattage, volts and so on there should be no issue at all. if anything you might be able to upgrade a little. Maybe a little higher wattage so you have better recycle times. IDK the outputs of the unit you have but it shouldn't be that hard to find out.

I'm on my cell right now so I'm not going to look it up right now.

Hell you could probably easily upgrade your amperage for the same price. I ordered a set of batteries off ebay for my power pack/backup for around 100 vs the oe batteries that they wanted around 200 for the same stuff.

Any sealed cell 12 volt will do really, the higher the amperage the longer you can shoot on a single charge. Just keep in mind the weight of the battery will go up along with the size the higher you go.

well, it's not entirely off-topic, this is all related to making our shots better for the senior portraits and being able to shoot longer....

I state as I look for reasons to justify the babbling.... lmao...

I just did a shoot the other day but I still have to get to processing the images. I've been a little backed up with my work as of lately, I have had 5 shoots in the last couple weeks for several friends and co-workers. Anything to keep some cash coming in.
