I have always wanted to give Blackrapid strap a try. I finally decided to get one. I am looking to get RS4 with FR3, but it seems everywhere I look, RS4 only comes with older FR2. Can someone suggest a seller with good price?

The local Henry's store just got recent stock RS-4's in ( I purchased one ) and they came with the FR-3 . I think any recent stock from BR will have the FR-3 .

I checked with sell-n-send, they only carry RS4 witt FR2. I prefer RS4 over RS7 because I don't like the quick release buckle.

I just went straight to the source http://www.blackrapid.com/product/camera-strap/rs-4/ (external link)
They shipped it shortly after I ordered, I should be receiving it this week. (I ordered it late friday night)

I just picked up my RS-5 I ordered from Henry's today and it also came with the FR-3 as did my RS-4 about a week ago so I don't understand why you are having issues getting the FR-3 with yours . Old stock is my guess but I can't see sellnsend having old stock or not being able to sell/supply you the RS-4 with the FR3 as you want because they sell the FR-3 .

Maybe you should contact Black Rapid and tell them the problem you are having . I'll bet they'll send you an FR3 no charge .

Could I use a FR3 with any strap? I would love to get a BlackRapid, but cant afford it right now. I was thinking that I could probably just buy a FR3, get a regular strap and put a latch on it and connect it there. Has anyone done anything like this?

Just get the Optech Utility Sling strap, it's cheaper

I just picked up an RS5 from Amazon to try out. Even though it was listed with an FR2 it came with an FR3. :D

Again , I believe it's a matter of old stock vs new and I still bet BR would send anyone an FR-3 if they felt the FR-2 was an issue .

this is a nice strap, especially for the prie, but i was wondering if anyone has found the strap to be too long? I'd like to rest my camera more at my waist rather than my hips but if i shorten it too much, the padded area wont sit at my shoulder anymore, it would more forward. i'm 5'10" so i'm not toooo short, maybe i just have a shorter torso

Doesn't it have a clip on the strap to stop the camera sliding to the back, just move this forward along the strap, so the weight of the camera doesn't drag the shoulder pad forward.
