Had a great opportunity to get close to a couple firefighting aircraft. Tried to bum a ride, but nogo.. Got these instead.

Nice Series JJ...

Got any more of the airframe to the right of the KC-97 in the last? Damn near looks like a Budd Conestoga...very rare!!

It does, but every picture I can find of the Conestoga shows it with a single vertical and that one appears to have twin tails...

Unfortunately the Conestoga at Pima is missing its tail...

Dang.. If I knew it was something rare I would have made an effort to get a few shots. I went through all of them and this is the best I got. :( I also included a 100% crop.

Thanx, and yup. My brother in law is the air controller fighting that fire. He said that next time I'm out, he'll try and set it up. I would so like to see those guys in action from in the cockpit.

It's a compilation of three separate fires. The plane pics were taken at General Wm J Fox airport just north of Lancaster. They were fighting a fire just to the north of the airport. The fire pics are of two fires that sprouted up just north of Agua Dulce.
