I am looking for a good(free) solution to presenting a large image gallery online.

I want to use this for posting images from my 3-day family reunion that I attend each year. Over the course of the 3 days I end up with about 300 images.

I believe a handful of visitors may not have flash, so I want to stick with non-flash gallery options.

I currently have lightroom and use the HTML gallery which gets the job done.

Im just curious about other options.

Thanks

JAlbum (jalbum.net) could do a good job with that.

Jalbum seems nice and easy, but I forgot to mention a major requirement.

I want be able to host the gallery on my family's website. I don't want them to have to navigate to a 3rd party.

Thanks for the suggestion.

Jalbum allows hosting on your own site, or on their site... no worries!

if your family's website uses wordpress, you can use picasa and then a plugin to retrieve all the photos and put it in a wordpress page....

i like smugmug, but you have to pay for it. i think for the price of $0, they will have to go to a third party site to see the photos.

I played around with the lightroom option a bit more and I think its sufficient. Initially my grid was too small which resulted in 20+ pages of images, this was my main complaint.

Im going to try Jalbum some more tonight and see how to get it hosted on my own site

I know this thread is quite old now, but if it's of any help I found 350's (external link) gallery feature damn useful. It bypasses the need for any offline setup or coding as it resizes and distributes your images in a variety of ways for you. Even the uploader will resize the images for you if you ask it to.
