I picked up some nice 2 wheelin and 3 wheelin shots this past weekend at "the Glen" in NY.

Here are a few more shots.

Can anyone tell me why the whole car is not in focus? The middle is good, but the front/back are fuzzy. More so on JJ's car then Gordon's. Should I have had my 100-400 in Mode 2 for IS?

Really Nice! I thought about renting the 100-400 for this weekends race in Michigan but when Im on the other side of the fence its kinda pointless LOL!! They look good, sorry I don't know the answer to your question though. GO JEFF!

Yes, always mode 2 if you're going to pan. The other reason for the blur in the first shot is because of both the car's high speed and it's non-linear motion: it's moving on a non-parallel plane to where you are panning/shooting from so the whole car will never be completely sharp at slower shutter speeds.

some fairly old canon camera stuff, canon lenses, Manfrotto "thingy", and an M5, also an M6 that has had a 720nm filter bolted onto the sensor:
